Bible Roots, made by BrownDev LLC, helps you read Scripture on your own or with a group. Here is how we use your information and the choices you have.
You can read without an account. We don't sell your data or show ads. Personal notes and responses are not shared with your group unless you choose to share them.
Members may see your display name, progress allowed by the group's privacy settings, and responses you choose to share. Private responses are available only to their author through the app; facilitator notes are available only to leaders. Content reports are available to group leaders and Bible Roots administrators for review. Our Community Guidelines explain reporting and blocking.
The app no longer includes usage analytics or advertising SDKs. Your reading statistics and tree progress are features for you, not analytics tracking. Firebase still provides account, syncing, and group services as described above.
Older app versions may still offer optional usage analytics, off by default. You can disable it in Settings or update to the latest version when available.
Our website separately uses Google measurement tools, which may use cookies or browser identifiers to measure visits and download-link clicks. This website measurement is separate from the app. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not use your reading activity for personalized advertising or collect your precise location or contacts. Without an account, reading progress stays on your device.
You can permanently delete your account from either the iOS or Android app by opening Settings → Manage account → Delete account and following the confirmation steps. Signing out is not the same as deleting your account.
Need to delete your account without the app?
Visit our account deletion page to submit a request.
Deletion removes your account, synced reading data and preferences, profile photo, membership, personal progress, and authored posts, notes, responses, and associated reports. Groups and challenges used by others may continue without your identifying information; a shared group photo can remain until a leader removes it. Your separate Apple or Google account and store purchase records are unaffected.
We keep account data while your account is active. After deletion, limited records may be retained where needed for security, legal obligations, or a safety report. To ask about your information or request deletion, contact us below.
Bible Roots is not directed to children under 13. Youth groups should have adult supervision, use the available privacy safeguards, and obtain parent or guardian consent where required. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent.
